Ephemerality is what gives moments their meaning. It is what makes experiences special. Even though some days it saddens me I know it is the nature of..hm..everything, probably. A modern camera is capable of doing a lot of work for us to mend the fading memory, but it can only provide a faint remnant of what once was. That moment, indeed, had its time to shine and now takes its rightful place in “The Past” within the flow of time.

Most of the times I feel creative and write a song, I am trying to counter something negative and leave a little message or a reminder for my future self. An anxiety or something that is deeply concerning to me - these are often circumstances that help me, no, demand from me to create. The creative process is a distraction. By creating something that I find beautiful the song and me together go into a peaceful battle with the colourless deep fog.

Speaking of colourless deep fog, I finished Demon's Souls thrice this January. I interactively experienced the incredible theatre play, concert, journey through land and stories and overall just sensational work of art that is Kentucky Route Zero. What a phenomenal book!

The months from October to April used to feel like an eternity way back when. Now it’s almost March. My firstborn son's fourth birthday lies a couple of days in the past already. Actually wanted to properly record the song that I wrote for him / was inspired by him in 2020, called “Bliss”. Got stuck in the best places to get stuck in: flow state. Wrote “Ephemeral” instead within a couple of days. 2023 did not turn out as I planned, but that's okay. Different things came up and took up the time and mental room.

Most of the time I am overwhelmed by this life. This full, restless, ephemeral life. It isn't even spring here, where I am at right now. Not my home. But it is where I live these days. It isn't even spring - yet I think of the mayflies and the rush of summer. I think of hay bales and pictorial clouds colored by fiery sunsets. Am I wasting time? Or am I...just...living right? Whatever that means. Does it come down to how you feel at the end of each day, or don't these feelings tell the whole story after all?

We're born in a random place, surrounded by random people and one of our tasks in life is to find our home, our people. That is what I trust in. What else could this be?

When I was 11 years old my heroes were Chester Bennington (rest in peace), Mike Shinoda and Eminem. System of a Down, Slipknot..later the heavier stuff Fit for an Autopsy, Within the Ruins...

Most of the time I feel not in control of my life. But for everything that is so very ephemeral, I feel certain, that I am on the right track. No matter how I feel today, or tomorrow.

I have not anticipated the fingerstyle guitar scene, when I was 11. More so, I have not anticipated the warmth and kindness and support that is being spread in these parts and that I am receiving here. What a positive community with an interest in mutual / personal growth and good vibes. Thank You for everything.

Huh..seems like I've been all over the place with this one. Maybe that's what this is. It's all a dance. Of body and spirit and mind. Well....gotta go find the Elden Ring now. Damn, I'm 32 this year...
